Club Professionals Ryan and Janelle Smith along with Teaching Professional Jason Laws, have taken out top honours at the NSW/ACT PGA Awards Evening at Royal Sydney Golf Club winning the NSW Club Professional and NSW Teaching Professional of the Year awards respectively.
Laws was presented as the NSW PGA Teaching Professional of the Year by PGA Life Member and distinguished golf coach Alex Mercer.
In his acceptance Laws paid homage to his wife and the Newcastle Golf Club as major contributors to his success.
In an extremely rare occurrence, the husband and wife pairing of Ryan and Janelle Smith from the Charlestown Golf Club in Newcastle took out the NSW/ACT Club Professional of the Year Award.
The prestigious NSW Tournament awards were also announced with the Brightside
Cover Castle Hill Pro-Am and the Ron Crouch Transport Wagga Wagga Pro-Am both defending their 2015 crowns, claiming a third consecutive victory in the NSW City and Country pro-ams respectively
The NSW PGA Legends Pro-Am of the Year was awarded to Club Catalina for the second year running
The highlight of the night was undoubtably the induction of the PGA’s newest Members, the graduating Trainees.
After three years of intensive work, study and tournaments, 13 graduates were on hand to accept their certificates from PGA Life Member Colin McGregor.
