Aron Price
Official World Golf Ranking: 418
Previous appearances: 1 (2014 Pinehurst)
Best finish: MC
Price earned his way into his second US Open by winning a rain delayed sectional qualifier in Florida last week.
The Sydneysider was two holes into his second round and T2 when play was suspended for the day but showed determination to return the following day and go on to win.
Having lost his playing privileges on the Web.com Tour at the end of last year, Price is in golf limbo in 2016 playing several Monday qualifiers and teeing up on the PGA Tour Canada in recent weeks.Teeing off the first tee in the first group of the day on Thursday, Price may have the honour of hitting the first shot of the championship and while he won’t be among the favourites he is an accomplished player whose first priority will be to make the cut.
