On day two of the NSW Open at Stonecutters Ridge, SouthPacific Open champion Adam Blyth played a brilliant round of golf, firing9-under 63.

"""I putted very well, especially yesterday. Finishing withfour birdies in the last four holes always boosts your round up," highlightedBlyth, who fired round of 65, 63 to be 16-under the card.

"Even though yesterday was a shot or two harder with thebreeze, I got away with a nice bogey-free start today, it was a very solid gameand the putter was the thing out there today.

"I want to keep those confidence boosts for the next daysand not get too excited about the birdies or too down about the bogeys."

At the beginning of this year, the Queenslander did notplayed his best golf, but he is now back in excellent form and we can see theresults coming through.

"I have been working really hard the whole year. The startof the year was a bit scratchy, I had some okay results," added Blyth.

"But it is really nice when you see the good results and youjust want to work even harder when it starts to pay off. I just have to keepriding the wave."

Not his usual tournaments caddy, his girlfriend Nicole camein for the first two rounds to replace his dad who will take up his usualduties tomorrow.

But Nicole, appears to be Blyth’s secret weapon, her abilityto keep him relaxed during his round, has placed him in the perfect positionheading into the final two rounds.

"Nicole has been the secret weapon. It’s great having heraround, she does all the food and nutrition and gets all of this ready for me,"added Blyth.

"She says all the right things out there, keeps me calm. Shedoesn’t talk about what a normal caddy would talk about. We are having a goodlaugh.

"Dad will be here tonight to finish the week end off. I amsure she will be giving him a bit of banter on how good she is."

New South Welshman Benjamin Clementson is sitting five shotsbehind Blyth after the morning field.

The afternoon field is now on course with overnight leaderBrett Coletta amongst them.
