With
less than two weeks to go, Numurkah and Mooroopna Golf Clubs are set for the
2016 Numurkah/Mooroopna Pro-Am.

After
the success of last year’s event, Mooroopna and Numurkah will continue with the
two-day Pro-Am format being held on
Thursday 1^st and Friday 2^nd December.

The leading professional
over the two days will be awarded the Greater
Shepparton Trophy and receive the major share of the $25,000 of prize money
up for grabs.

Professionals from all over
Australia will descend upon Shepparton providing both clubs with a wonderful
chance to showcase their picturesque layouts.

In the third year of an
agreement to support the event, the City of Greater Shepparton has provided the
clubs with a springboard to launch the event into one of the leading events in
the state.

 "The initiative to combine the two events was
a huge success, with the support of the Greater
Shepparton City Council it is now one of the premier events on our calendar,"
said Cameron Davies, PGA Tournament Coordinator.

The Numurkah/Mooroopna Pro-Amfurther boosts the promotion of
the game of golf in the region.  A PGA
Pro-Am is a unique experience in sport, in no other sport can an amateur
compete alongside a professional on the same playing field.

"I would like to commend both
clubs and the Council for the hard work already completed to securethe event, and we look forward to
working with all parties into the future to ensure ongoing success," said Nick
Dastey, State Manager of the PGA of Australia VIC/TAS Division.

Greater Shepparton CEO
Peter Harriott said the Council was thrilled to be hosting this event for a
third successive year.

"This event further
strengthens our reputation as a leading sports events destination and
complements some of the new major events secured to Greater Shepparton recently
including the 2016 AFL Girls National Diversity Championships, 2016 Victorian
Mountain Bike State Series and 2017 Australia Speedway Championships and the
2017 BMX Australia Nationals Series." Mr Harriott said.

With the end of the 2016 PGA
Pro-Am Series Vic/Tas Order of Merit in sight, the race to secure the Peter
Thomson Trophy is wide open, Victorian David Bransdon is holding a slender lead
over Ryan Haywood with only handful of events to go.
