South Australia’s Adam Bland has broken a run of missed cuts with a convincing T11 finish to be top Australian at the Japan Tour’s ANA Open.

""The left hander fired scores of 69-72-68-72 to finish 7-under-par at the Sapporo Golf Club, six shots out of a three way playoff won by Yuta Ikeda.

Good putting was key to Bland’s performance for the week as he amassed less than 30 putts in each of the four rounds.

Victoria’s Matt Griffin was next best of the Australians at 3-under and T28, the high finish enough to move him to 64thon the money list with the top 60 to retain their cards at the end of the season.

Defending champion Brendan Jones will be disappointed with his weekend play after making a decent start to his title defence.

Jones opened with rounds of 70-69 to be inside the top 10m heading to the weekend but faded on Saturday and Sunday.

Scores of 74-73 saw the 14 time Tour winner slip down the standings, his 72-hole total of 2-under good for a share of 32nd place.
