Queensland’s Maverick Antcliff is finding his feet late in his rookie season on the China Tour, the 24-year-old posting his second consecutive top five finish to be leading Australian at the penultimate event of the season.

""Antcliff finished runner-up last week, his best result in 13 starts on the Tour, and backed up at this week’s Chongqing Jiangnan Newtown Kingrun Open with a T4 result that sees him to fifth on the Order of Merit.

Having earned his card at the Qualifying School in May, Antcliff has impressed with seven top 10 finishes for the year, four of those inside the top five.

He was one of four Australians in this week’s field, Corey Hale, Bryden Macpherson and Kevin Yuan all making the cut also.

Hale was next best on the leaderbaord at T19 with Macpherson two strokes further back and T24.

Macpherson remains second on the Order of Merit behind Korea’s Rak Hyun Cho with one event remaining on the schedule though is still mathematically capable of claiming the title.

Kevin Yuan was the last of the Australians to tee up this week and finished T30 at 1-over for the 72 holes.
