The South Australian leg of the E-Z-GO Legends Tour drew to an end at Adelaide Shores today with 56 Senior Professionals competing for the Swangury Penglase South Australian Open.
The South Australian leg of the E-Z-GO Legends Tour drew to an end at Adelaide Shores today with 56 Senior Professionals competing for the Swangury Penglase South Australian Open.
Mike Harwood was the standout with his round of 67 on day one which saw a Professional only field and a high standard of play on the ever improving Adelaide Shores layout.
On day two Professionals were joined by club members and sponsors, with wet windy conditions making play tough but everyone showing class and experience.
Mike Harwood backed up his 67 with a 69 for an 8-under par total and a three shot lead over Chris Williams of South Africa
Lucian Tinkler was a further shot back and had the round of the day 68 to go with his first round 70.
Harwood, who had been suffering from a bad back, managed to ace the par 3 12th and win the E-Z-GO Golf Cart that was up for grabs on that hole.
Harwood praised the condition of the course and thanked the sponsors for their support, during the presentations Stephen Penglase of Swanbury Penglase Architecture announced their ongoing support for 2016.
Seven other events were played on the lead up to this tournament of which mike Harwood took out two, other winners included Chris Williams, Simon Owen, Peter Fowler and Craig Warren.
