23-year-old Jordan Zunic has won the 2015 BMW New Zealand Open today in Queenstown.
Starting the day tied for the lead, Zunic fired an
impressive 6-under 66 to secure the title with a tournament total of 21-under
266.
The tournament came down to the wire with Zunic needing to
birdie the 72nd hole to ensure victory otherwise a playoff with
experienced Victorian David Bransdon awaited him.
Playing an incredible approach shot into 18, which hit the
flag, Zunic sunk his two metre birdie putt to seal the win.
It’s an incredible achievement for Zunic who turned
Professional this year despite missing his PGA Tour of Australasia card at
Qualifying School.
He earned his place in the BMW New Zealand Open thanks to a
top-10 finish at the NZ PGA last week which he Monday qualified for.
