It’s been almost two months to the day since Jordan Zunic made his stunning 72nd hole birdie to win the BMW New Zealand Open but with no events to play since then he gets his first chance to shine at this week’s OneAsia Tour GS Caltex Maekyung Open Golf Championship.

"JordanZunic, an unexpected but popular winner at Queenstown, has no status on any tour outside the PGA Tour of Australasia and with limited opportunities he will be keen to make the most of those that come his way.

There will be plenty of focus on the 23-year-old this week after his heroics in New Zealand where his final approach shot hit the flagstick to set up a winning birdie.

Zunic is somewhat of an unknown quantity having only turned Professional earlier this year but proved with his play in New Zealand, where he only qualified for the Open after a top 10 finish at the previous week’s NZ PGA, he has plenty of game.

However, with a strong field assembled for the event in Korea he will need to be at his best if he is to notch a second Professional victory.

Recent Queensland PGA winner Ryan Fox is one of a number of in form players teeing up this week and knows the course well having finished in a share of 10th here last year.

Also in the field are 2014 Fiji International winner Steven Jeffress, another former New Zealand open winner Dimi Papadatos and reigning WA Goldfields PGA Championship winner Ryan Lynch.

Since 2005 this event has been won every year by a South Korean player and with a strong contingent again this year the international players will need to be on their game to break the hoodoo.
