Young gun & veteran chase first title

Tim Hart and Matthew Millar lead the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship after the third round played today at the City Golf Club in Toowoomba.

Tim Hart and Matthew Millar lead the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship after the third round played today at the City Golf Club in Toowoomba.

"TimQueensland young gun Tim Hart fired a 6-under 64 and tour
veteran Matthew Millar a 5-under 65 to lead at 11-under the card.

In just his second year on the PGA Tour of Australasia, Hart
has earned a reputation as a big hitter with City Golf Club traditionally
favouring those long off the tee.

"With the guys playing this week you have to take every
advantage that you can," said Hart.

"I have hit driver on every hole, except the par-3’s this
week. It’s definitely an advantage and I think that I am taking advantage quite
well at the moment. Hopefully I can do it again tomorrow."

A win would be a huge boost to the 25-year-old’s career but it
would be even sweeter for his first Professional victory to be at his state PGA
Championship.

"I have lived in Queensland for a fair few years so I do
claim myself as a Queenslander, but I wasn’t born here," added Hart.

"It would be good to get my first win, for it to be in my
home state would be very nice."

At the other end of his career Matthew Millar has been in
excellent form since regaining his tour card at Qualifying School this year.

"I think losing my card for the first time in 12 years was a
real good kick in the backside," said Millar who has recorded top-10 finishes
in the Victorian Open and Victorian PGA Championship.

"I went back to the school, I didn’t do a lot different but made
some huge changes mentally, it’s been good looking at things differently."

"My coach, who also coaches Brad Kennedy, has put a rocket
into me as well."

Millar is also chasing his first victory in a four round PGA
Tour of Australasia tournament.

"Tomorrow will be a test, I still haven’t won a four
rounder, it’s something that I really want to tick off," added Millar.

"Tomorrow is another good opportunity, like the last couple
of weeks, so I am really looking forward to it."

Brad Kennedy led throughout the third round before making
his first bogey of the tournament on the 18th hole to drop one off
the pace.

At 9-under the card Ryan Fox (NZ), Cameron Smith (QLD) and
Anthony Brown (VIC) are all tied fourth on the leaderboard.

A further shot back Cory Crawford (QLD)(am), Aaron Pike
(QLD), Michael Sim (WA) and Scott Arnold (NSW) round out the top-10.

The final round of the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship
will tee off at 9.20am with the final group on course at 11am.

A live video stream of the final round will be available here from 1pm local time.
