Professionals were once again greeted to perfect weather conditions for the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series Sunshine Swing event held at the Riverlakes Golf Club today.

In the 12th staging of the Bendigo Bank Riverlakes Pro-Am, four Professionals from the morning field including David Hando, Chris Hollingsworth, Sven Puymbroeck and Quinton Howe set the pace following their four under par 66’s.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t be good enough, with Charles Wright, Terry Price and Daniel Fox all finishing in a tie for the win following their afternoon rounds of 65.

This is Wright’s first win on the Sunshine Swing after turning Professional at the start of this year.

"The quality of players on the pro-am circuit at the moment is very high, so I am pretty satisfied to have come out on top here today at Riverlakes alongside Daniel and Terry," said Wright.

"Riverlakes is not a long course, but you need to strategically plot your way around, if you want to play well. I was able to do this today and I guess that’s one of the main reasons why I have been able to beat such a quality field," added Wright.

Professionals will return to the course tomorrow, with the $11,000 Redland Bay Pro-Am being staged for the first time since 2001.
