Unfinished business for Pilkadaris in Delhi

India’s Delhi Golf Club is notorious for its claustrophobic fairways and terrifying bordering jungle but for two days in 2016 Terry Pilkadaris tamed the beast.

""Opening rounds of 67-64 at the European Tour co-sanctioned Indian Open last year had the Asian Tour veteran three clear of the field with two rounds to play.

But the narrowest course used for any professional event in the world bit back over the weekend and a 73-76 finish saw the Australian slip to T15.

Pilkadaris gets his chance at revenge this week when he is one of three Australians to tee up at the Delhi Golf Club for the Panasonic Open India.

Pilkdaris will be joined in the field by fellow Asian Tour veteran Scott Barr and Kunal Bhasin for the US$400,000 tournament.

At 47th on the Order of Merit, Pilkadaris is in good position to keep his card for next year though with only the top-60 doing so would be more comfortable if he were higher.

Barr is further down the rankings, at 82nd, and needs a strong week if he is to make any sort of move.

Just six events remain on the schedule for 2017 and with three of those co-sanctioned with the European Tour Barr is likely to have only limited chances as the season winds down.

Bhasin has little status on the Asian Tour and makes just his second start for the season as a PGA Tour India member.
