The Le Golf National course in Paris is one
of the toughest on the European Tour and it proved a worthy opponent for the
five Australians teeing up in the 100th French Open at the weekend.

"ScottScott Hend, the form Australian of the 2016
European season, was the only one of the Down Under brigade to qualify for the
weekend as Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee claimed his eighth European Tour
victory.

At even par through two rounds Hend was
just five of the pace and T25 but a third round 79 proved fatal to his title
chances.

A quadruple bogey at the 15th
hole on Saturday, compounded by a double bogey two holes later, ruined some
otherwise disciplined play from Hend whose week started on a high note when it
was announced he was in the field for the upcoming Open at Royal Troon.

A 1-over-par 72 in the final round saw the
Queenslander finish 9-over for the four days and T56.

Jason Scrivener, Andrew Dodt, Richard Green
and Dimi Papadatos all finished well outside the 4-over cut line.
