After supporting several PGA initiatives including being the naming rights sponsor of the QLD PGA Trainee Championship for the past 3 years, Tony Hollands Funerals has created a new initiative in 2019 this time for the PGA Legends.
The inaugural Tony Hollands Challenge will see 17 individual holes selected at tournaments throughout the QLD Swing of the Ladbrokes PGA Legends with the professional who records the lowest score (relative to par) taking home a $2,500 bonus. With a minimum of 12 holes required to be completed in order to be eligible for the bonus, PGA (QLD/NT) State Manager Broc Greenhalgh is looking forward to providing another opportunity for PGA Legends Tour Professionals to showcase their skills.
“The unique concept will certainly create a new element to each of the selected events and with PGA Professionals not knowing the chosen hole until the day of the tournament” said Greenhalgh.
“The game of golf may be rich with tradition however the PGA are committed to finding new ways to allow professionals to demonstrate their talent and display their longevity of which the PGA Legends Tour is a perfect example.”
“Tony Hollands has been a significant supporter of professional golf in the Sunshine State across a number of platforms and this new initiative is further evidence of his commitment to PGA Professional”.
Tony Hollands is really pleased with the increased associated with the PGA knowing that the game of golf is the perfect fit for his business.
“Our company prides itself on integrity and the game of golf, in particular the PGA are a good representation of what we strive for in business” said Hollands.
“As a golf tragic myself I am in awe of how well the PGA Legends Tour Professionals can continue to play into the latter stages of their career and I am personally looking forward to my clients enjoying their experience playing with some of the legends of the game.”
In addition to the bonus prizemoney $500 will also be donated a charity of the winner’s choice marking a further sign of the dedication of the Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour to the community
“We are proud of the impact the Legends Tour has on the golfing community though it it’s our commitment to initiatives like this to give back to those less fortunate which we intend to further enhance” said PGA Legends Tour Chairman Terry Price.
“Many of the PGA Professionals playing on the Legends Tour have had long and prosperous careers and we hope the numerous charity efforts that we commit to throughout the year will go a long way to having others enjoy similar longevity in their respective careers.”
