ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia members Rory Bourke and James Marchesani make it a double at The Big Garage Subaru Bairnsdale Pro-Am.

Bourke fired a bogey free round of 3-under 68 to tie Marchesani, the win is the first for both Professionals in the 2017 pro-am series.

Bourke and Marchesani saw off the quality field including the likes of 2015 Australian PGA Champion Nathan Holman (4-over 75), 2016 Victorian PGA Champion Ashley Hall (even Par 71) and fellow ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia members David Bransdon, Jack Wilson and Mitch Brown.

Both players during their acceptance speech were glowing in their praise of the Bairnsdale course and their newly appointed Course Superintendent Craig Rimington.

“This is the fourth time I’ve been to Bairnsdale and this is the best I have ever seen it,” said Bourke.

“This would have to be the best course in country Victoria, thank you to Craig. The greens were amazing, the best we have putted on all year,” Marchesani added.

Thanks must also got to major sponsor The Big Garage Subaru Bairnsdale and their Dealer Principal Ian McKenzie for offering a brand new Subaru Levorg for any Professional who score a Hole-in-one the tricky Par 3 8^th hole.

Good crowds gathered around the tee all day hoping to see someone ace it but unfortunately for the spectators it wasn’t to be.

Peter Wilson managed to maintain to his lead in the state Order of Merit despite opting not to play at Bairnsdale, however his lead has been cut down now to just $150 with just one event left in Victoria before the winter break.

The series moves to Geelong Golf Club on Monday for their first pro-am on the new nine hole layout. The field will be boosted by the return of Wilson along with another Tour member Terry Pilkadaris who is stepping out for his first pro-am of the year.
