Purchase goes low to win in Noosa

"DarrylWith a field that matched the high quality of the course, some of Australia’s greatest players including Ian Baker-Finch, Peter Senior, Rodger Davis and Michael Harwood gathered to contest the title.

Playing early in the morning, former Australian Senior PGA Champion Darryl Purchase took advantage of the conditions carding 7-under 65 to claim victory by one shot from Peter Senior.

“It was like the stars aligned for me today,” said Purchase following his round.

“I played really well out there today. It wasn’t the best start being 1-over after three holes, but I was quick to put it behind me and making eagle at the 16th hole, really got my round going.”

“It’s a good time to find some form ahead of a big three days at the Sunshine Coast Masters.”

Plenty of players are finding form with 28 players shooting even par or better at the Noosa Legends Pro-Am.

Professionals will now split, with the Sunshine Coast Masters teeing off tomorrow across the Twin Waters and Pelican Waters Golf Clubs. This year will also see the Sunshine Coast Masters Champion, also be crowned the Australian Senior PGA Champion.
