Tim Hart has played exceptional golf around the challenging Mackay Golf Club layout to claim victory by three shots in the 31st staging of the CMR Mackay Pro-Am.

"TimStarting the day two shots clear of the field at the two-day event, Hart remained in control from start to finish to enter the clubhouse at the conclusion of round two with a tournament total of 11-under par 131, despite the efforts of a number of players to mount a charge for the lead.

This is the third win this year on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series for the 29-year-old who has had success in Victoria, New South Wales and now Queensland.

“My goal the last couple of days was just to play mistake-free golf,” said Hart. “I managed another bogey-free again today which I pleased with.”

“I played solid golf on the front-9 and made the turn 2-under, then I just tried to hold on the back-9 finishing 1-under.

“I made two long putts to save par on the 15th and 17th holes which really kept me in it.”

“I really enjoy the course here in Mackay and it was presented really well for the Pro-Am, full credit to all involved.”

Finishing in a tie for second position was experienced professional Brad Burns and Brad Doherty who has been in good form of late, both completing the tournament on 8-under 134.

“I was pleased with my game today,” said Burns.

“I felt I was in with a chance over the final nine holes. I went for it down the 18th hole and ended up three putting for a bogey six to finish the day.”

Doug Klein and Andrew Campbell tied for fourth place with totals of 7-under 135, while Shae Wools-Cobb recorded a total of 6-under to claim sixth.

The next stop on the Queensland Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series schedule is the Pioneer Valley Golf Club where play begins at 10.30am on Sunday 26 May, 2019.
