PGA Ladbrokes Legends Tour players were greeted with perfect conditions for the 2017 Beverley Park Legends Pro-Am played in Sydney’s South on Thursday.
Victorian Professional, Lucien Tinkler shot a 2-under par 68 to edge fellow Victorian Tim Elliot by one shot (69), with a group of eight Professionals a further shot back in a tie for third at even par 70.
Having flown up to Sydney from Melbourne earlier in the day Tinkler was excited to be competing again after a little ‘R&R’ at home following a busy month of Legends Tour events.
“After Kareela last week I flew home to spend a few days with the family. I felt very relaxed throughout the round today and was excited to be back playing again after a short break," Tinkler said.
“My putter was on song today. I made six birdies and kept the ball in play which is key around Beverley Park as it is such a tight layout.”
The win marks Tinkler’s fourth of the year on the PGA Ladbrokes Legends Tour and will give him confidence heading into the final month of events.
"I’m looking forward to the final few events in NSW before finishing the year up in QLD with a couple of big prize purses."
The Ladbrokes Legends Tour moves onto nearby Hurstville Golf Course on Friday for the Wayne Riley Georges River Council Legends Pro-Am.
