"AndrewDifficult morning conditions greeted players, where intermittent rain and 40km winds lashed the course.

Scores reflected the tough conditions; however it was Kelly who took advantage of a calmer afternoon to record a round of 4-under 68, including three birdies and an eagle.

“I haven’t won for three years so it’s great to be back on the winners list,” said Kelly.

“The course is amazing; it was an absolute pleasure to get the opportunity to play today.”

Finishing one-shot off  the lead was Alex Edge, who managed a round of 3-under par to take second place.

Brad Lamb lead the morning field, firing a 2-under 70 round that featured two birdies and an eagle to see him tie for third with seven players including Ryan Lynch and Peter Wilson.

Brad Moules has equalled the course record of 7-under 65 at Latrobe Golf Club to win the Nelson Alexander Latrobe Pro-Am.

"BradReturning to the Latrobe Golf Club after a hiatus, players were greeted with temperatures in the mid-20s while a light breeze made for fantastic golf conditions.

After a quiet start to the year, Moules hit the ground running starting from the 11th hole where he opened with a birdie 2 on the short par-3, before following on with another on the 12th to be 2-under for two holes.

His hot streak continued with birdies on the 16th, 17th and 18th to see him make the turn for the front-9 at 5-under the card.

Back-to-back birdies on the 2nd and 3rd increased his gap on the field, drawing level with the current course record at 7-under with seven holes still to play.

Unable to capitalise on opportunities to set a new course record, Moules was pleased to have adapted his play to maintain his score and secure the win.

“I realised when I was on the green that something was up here,” said Moules.

“I changed my putting grip.

“I went from the claw grip back to conventional grip and that’s what made all the difference.”

Recent winner Ryan Lynch posted eight birdies and two bogeys to finish one shot ahead of Fox on 6-under 66, tying for second with Anthony Marchesani.

Daniel Fox, winner of the Big Garage Subaru Bairnsdale Pro-Am also continued his run of form, recording six birdies and a bogey to finish on 5-under 67 alongside Jack Wilson and Ruben Lal.

Two consistent rounds of 66 and 66 for a 12-under 132 total have seen Adam Burdett win the Traralgon Latrobe City WIN Network Pro-Am at Traralgon Golf Club.

Two consistent rounds of 66 and 66 for a 12-under 132 total have seen Adam Burdett win the Traralgon Latrobe City WIN Network Pro-Am at Traralgon Golf Club.

"AdamCool conditions greeted players on day two after heavy overnight rains and storms softened the course after the heat of day one.

Despite the softer course conditions, strong southerly winds made play difficult with overnight leader Tim Hart struggling to find his rhythm.

Hart began his round cautiously from the 1st tee, shooting six straight pars and adding a birdie on the 7th to move him to 10-under.

Hart’s luck ran out on the 9th, losing his ball after a wayward left drive.

He returned to the tee as a result and went on to shoot a triple bogey 7, sending him back to 7-under to sit two shots behind Burdett.

Burdett’s round began on the par-5 2nd hole, collecting four birdies among the front-9 to head to the turn at 9-under for the tournament.

A bogey on the 10th in the challenging conditions put him down a shot, however Burdett was able to follow up with a further four birdies to move to 12-under, three shots clear of the field.

Hart was not done, however, producing an eagle on the 16th and par on the 17th, giving himself the chance to tie with Burdett on the 18th.

Hart’s chip, however, came up short when his birdie putt ran three feet past, handing Burdett the win.

“I love coming to Traralgon, the course is always in great condition and the greens are a real credit to Nathan and his team, they roll perfectly,” said Burdett.

“It’s been a while since I had a win; I think it’s my first since 2016 Murray Downs, so it’s great.”

The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series continues at Latrobe Golf Club on Friday at the Nelson Alexander Latrobe Pro-Am.

Tim Hart has taken an overnight lead at the Traralgon Latrobe City WIN Network Pro-Am being played at Traralgon Golf Club with one round left to play.

"TimThe strongest field ever assembled for the annual event with leading professionals Matthew Millar, David Bransdon, Simon Hawkes and Marcus Fraser joined by ex-AFL star and Traralgon native Brendon Goddard, who is playing as an elite amateur.

Hot and humid conditions persisted throughout the morning, while young Professionals Adam Burdett and Jack Murdoch took advantage of the still conditions to record 6-under and 5-under respectively.

However, big hitting Queensland player Tim Hart was the man to beat, setting the course alight after starting with a birdie on the 17th hole.

Additional birdies on the 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 8th holes as well as an eagle on the 5th took him to the turn at 7-under, one shot clear of Burdett.

An eagle on the 16th closed out his opening round at 9-under 63, equalling the Traralgon Golf Club course record.

Humid and still conditions were replaced by a hot north wind and high temperatures for the afternoon field, where 2018 ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia Player of the Year Matthew Millar set about chasing down Hart.

Millar opened his round on the 2nd hole and proceeded to shoot five birdies in a row in his first time playing the Traralgon Golf Club course.

Millar birdied the tough par-3 15th and then the short par-4 18th to get his round to 7-under, just two shots behind Hart.

Playing as an elite amateur, Brendon Goddard’s day was a roller coaster. Looking every bit the professional golfer at 2-under through three holes, it came crashing to a halt when he handed the shots back on the 5th, 8th and 9th to make the turn at 2-over par.

Goddard finished at 7-over for the day in a tie for 74th place.

Players return to the course on Thursday afternoon for the final round of the Traralgon Latrobe City WIN Network Pro-Am.

""Three Oates Vic Open winners Simon Hawkes, Richard Green and Marianne Skarpnord, Coca-Cola QLD PGA champion Daniel Fox, former Victoria PGA champion Ashley Hall, 2017 National Ladbrokes Pro-Am Order of Merit winner Peter Wilson as well as Gippsland locals David Bransdon and Geoff Drakeford.

On International Women’s Day Traralgon Golf Club with the support of the Latrobe City Council introduced a female only purse.

This saw six female Professionals tee it up alongside the men in an attempt to grow female participation in sport across the Latrobe Valley.

Play was suspended early in round one for 20 minutes due to the heavy fog that rolled in, once the fog burnt off the day was perfect for golf, mid 20’s temperature, blue skies and little to no breeze to speak of.

Big hitting local Geoff Drakeford took the lead on 6-under 66. His round included five birdies, two eagles and three bogeys.  His front-9 features two birdies and an eagle to make the turn at 4-under before he birdied the 11th to finish his round.

Matt Jager soon tied Drakeford at 6-under, his round set up by a blistering front-9 of 5-under after birdies on 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7.  He bogeyed the long par-3 10th and the par-4 13th.  Further birdies on the 11th and the 18th closed out his round at 6-under.

“I just drove the ball really well today,” said Jager.

“The course is playing really fast and firm so it was really important that I kept the ball in play off the tee and the greens were in great condition which helped with my putting.”

Late in round two the greens got slick and scoring become tough. Overnight co-leader Jager could only manage a 1-over par round of 73 to finish at 5-under for the tournament and in a tie for 11th place.

Round of the day went to defending champion Peter Wilson with a 6-under 66.  An outward nine of 4-under 33 where he birdied the 5th, eagled the 6th and then birdied the 7th. Three birdies coming in and his only bogey of the day on the 18th saw him finish on 7-under for the tournament and in a tie for 5th with Daniel Fox (5-under for the day) and course record holder Andrew Martin (4-under for the day).

Mitchell McComas got off to a flying start, beginning the day on 5-under he quickly moved to 7-under after an eagle on his first hole (the 2nd).  He then eagled the 6th to move to 9-under.  A bogey on the 8th and a birdie of the 9th saw him make the turn 4-under for the day and 9-under for the tournament.

McComas bogeyed the 10th to slip to 8-under but two late birdies on the 16th and 17th saw him back at 10-under and in the lead.  However with a costly bogey 5 on the 18th he slipped back to 9-under, one behind the winners in 3rd.

Gippsland local David Bransdon began his round on the 4th and really got going with an eagle on the 6th and birdie on the 7th to move to 8-under for the tournament.

A costly bogey on the 11th and easy birdies on the 16th, 17th and the 1st saw Bransdon move back to 10-under par and the lead with two holes to play, including the short par-5 2nd.

Bransdon had a costly three putt par on the 2nd after a huge drive left him with just the 1st to play and a chance to win the tournament outright.

Bransdon finished with a regulation par to leave him on 10-under par tied with Drakeford seeing the pair share the title.

“I love playing here. I live just down the road in Maffra so it’s great to be able to stay at home and then come out and play,” said Bransdon.

This marks Drakeford’s first pro-am win after making it into the field on a sponsors invite from the Traralgon Golf Club.

“It’s a great to finally get a win and especially here after finishing second the last two years,” said Drakeford.

“I’m certainly thinking about golf more now and we’ll see what can happen towards the end of the year for me.”

Marianne Skarpnord won the women’s event finishing at even par 72 and 3-over for the tournament to win by two shots from Hayley Bettencourt.

“A really big thanks to Latrobe City Council for their support of the first female Professional event here at Traralgon,” said Skarpnord

“I promise that next year, I’m bringing another 10 girls back with me.

“Yesterday I hit driver all day and finished in the trees. Today I only hit driver three times and then just hit hybrid off the tee to keep it in play.”
