Steve Ayles to join the PGA of Australia


The PGA of Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Ayles as Chief Commercial Officer, commencing 1st February 2015.

The PGA of Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Ayles as Chief Commercial Officer, commencing 1st February 2015.

Mr Ayles, who is based in Melbourne, has a wealth of experience in the sports rights and event management sector, holding senior executive positions for the past 15 years.

Most recently Mr Ayles acted as Commercial Executive for the International Tennis Federation, following an extremely successful period as Commercial Director of Tennis Australia between 2008 and 2013.

Brian Thorburn, Chief Executive Officer for the PGA of Australia said it is a real coup for the PGA, and the golf industry, to secure such experience.

"We’re thrilled that we have been able to secure Steve’s services and we’re confident that he will make a significant impact on the PGA and golf generally." said Thorburn.

"Steve’s vast experience in international sport will provide an incredible lift for our commercial programme."

"With tournaments in Australia showing growing TV ratings and profile, it is the time to accelerate our commercial programme, which will ultimately serve to benefit not only the PGA, but the industry as a whole."

Mr Ayles was equally excited to be joining the PGA.
