The marquee pairings for the first two rounds of the Emirates Australian Open have been released today.
Adam Scott made his feelings known; he wanted a chance to play alongside World Number 1 Rory McIlroy at The Australian this week.
In 2013 McIlroy put an end to Scott’s perfect home coming and Triple Crown dreams and this year Scott is keen for revenge.
However Scott will have to wait for the weekend to hopefully play alongside McIlroy, in the last group on Sunday would be even better!
Scott will play alongside World Number 14 Jordan Spieth and Australian Masters champion Nick Cullen for the first two rounds.
It is a dream pairing for 30-year-old South Australian Nick Cullen and another well earned benefit of his win on the PGA Tour of Australasia last week.
Defending champion Rory McIlroy will have the company of Geoff Ogilvy and Stuart Appleby for the first two rounds.
It is a group of former Australian Open champions with Ogilvy claiming the title in 2010 and Stuart Appleby in 2001.
John Senden will make his first appearance on the PGA Tour of Australasia for the summer at the Emirates Australian Open this week.
He will be playing alongside Matt Jones who is a member at The Australian and amateur Lucas Herbert.
It will be a fantastic experience for Herbert who last week finished T11 at the BetEasy Australian Masters and then pre-qualified for the Emirates Australian Open yesterday.
Steven Bowditch and Boo Weekley will enjoy each other’s company again this week as they have been drawn to play together alongside Brendan De Jong.
Weekley and Bowditch also played the first two rounds of the BetEasy Masters together last week.
