Senior still struggling on Champions Tour

A Sunday 77 was the final insult in a difficult week for Peter Senior as he struggles to retain playing privileges for next year’s Champions Tour.

A Sunday 77 was the final insult in a difficult week for Peter Senior as he struggles to retain playing privileges for next year’s Champions Tour.

The 54-year-old finished 20 shots behind winner Scott Dunlap, 4-over-par for the 54 holes of the Boeing Classic and T64 in an 80 man field.

Senior has been a perennial contender since joining the over-50′s circuit in 2010 but 2014 has been a difficult year where he has struggled to find form and results.

He has just two top-10′s in 14 starts and lies 39th on the Charles Schwab Cup points list with only the top-30 guaranteed a card for next year.

Statistics suggest it is Senior’s iron play which may be the issue, the Queenslander currently 40th on Tour in greens in regulation with 69% his worst since 2010 when he was 26th with the same percentage.

With seven full field events left for 2014 Senior has time to turn things around but needs to get moving sooner than later.
