Scrivener's big European finish - PGA of Australia

Scrivener’s big European finish

Jason Scrivener already knew he was the best Australian player on the European tour before the final round of the DP World Championship, the tour championship. A final-round 65 and another top-10 finish only proved it.

Perth’s Scrivener, 30, bolted home with a seven-under final-round at Jumeirah Golf Estates, to pick up 102,000 Euro in prizemoney after a 300,000 Euro cheque in South Africa the week before.

He also jumped to a final finish of 32nd in the Race To Dubai points rankings, in by far his best season in Europe and a year worth around one million Euro.

Scrivener, a former Australian boys champion, had not even secured his spot in the tour championship until his third place at Sun City, the equal-best of his European Tour career.

Queenslander Scott Hend finished 49th but Spain’s Jon Rahm was the king for the day, making a birdie from the greenside bunker at the last to win by a shot and pick up $US 5 million — $3 million for the tournament and $2 million for topping the Race to Dubai.
