A 1-under par round of 70 wasn’t enough for West Australian Jason Scrivener to push to the top of the leaderboard in the final round of the European Tour’s Made in Denmark tournament at the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort.

Scrivener moved within reach of the top 10 on the back of a third round of 4-under 67 but couldn’t keep pace with the frontrunners on Sunday, Austrian Bernd Weisberger holding off Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre to win by a shot.

Five birdies and four bogeys saw Scrivener drop 10 spots in the final round to be tied for 25th, one shot ahead of South Australian Wade Ormsby who also fell 10 positions on Sunday to be tied for 33rd.

It was a less adventurous round of 70 for Ormsby who was remarkably consistent over the course of the week, dropping just one shot on the front nine all week as he compiled rounds of 71-70-70-70.

Nick Cullen was in position to bank a healthy cheque going into the fourth round but struck disaster on his final nine holes.

Starting the final day in a tie for 35th, the South Australian made the turn at even par but followed up a bogey at the par-4 10th with a quadruple bogey nine at the par-5 11th, further double bogeys at the 13th and 15th holes sending him tumbling down the leaderboard.

At the Challenge Tour’s D+D REAL Czech Challenge New Zealand’s Josh Geary continued his excellent 2019 form with a tie for 21st.

Four top-10 finishes this year has propelled Geary from a world ranking of 1,015 at the end of 2018 to just outside the top 400, rounds of 68-68 to start the tournament at Kaskada Golf Resort putting him in contention heading into the weekend, a second consecutive round of 71 seeing him fall eight spots on the leaderboard in the final round.
