Three time PGA TOUR winner, Scott Stallings, is excited to be on the Gold Coast for the Australian PGA Championship.

""Stallings touched down in Australia yesterday and wasted no time getting out to RACV Royal Pines Resort to test out the new front nine.

"It was a totally different nine holes," said Stallings.

"The course is in good shape and it’s pretty impressive they’ve been able to turn it around in that short amount of time."

"It will be really cool to see once all the changes take place next year."

This is Stallings first appearance at the Australian PGA Championship and he took no time declaring his affection for Australia and the sunshine state.

"I’m enjoying it so far and I’m excited to be here for the week."

"I’ve been to Sydney and Melbourne on the Nationwide Tour but never here,"

"I like Australia a lot, I’ve got a few buddies that live down here and have played here quite a bit; we do dinner and go to the beach and this and that".

At the age of 12, Stallings quit playing other sports to focus on becoming a Tour Professional after watching Tiger Woods dominate the field at the 1997 US Masters.

Stallings had his best Major finish at the US Masters in 2012 where he tied for 27th

More recently, Stallings claim victory at the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open in January finishing one shot clear of Aussies Jason Day and Marc Leishman after shooting seven birdies in the final round.

The win elevated Stallings from 166th to 10th in the FedExCup rankings.

The Australian PGA Championship will be played at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast from December 11 – 14.

Members of RACV, RACQ, NRMA, RAASA, RACWA, RACT, RANT and NZAA will receive a 50 per cent discount off the standard PGA gate price when they show their membership card during Championship week.
