Darren Rix is in the box seat at the halfway mark of the Ladbrokes Legends Tour South Pacific Classic and has a two-shot lead heading into the third round.
Round two of the South Pacific Classic was played in blustery but fine conditions.
Overnight leader Tim Elliott struggled to find the form from round one but ground out a creditable 73 for an even-par total of 144.
Martin Peterson of New South Wales continued his consistent form with a second round of 73 to sit two shots back of Elliott.
But it was Queenslander Darren Rix who mastered the conditions and the course carding a 4-under par 68 to lead by two.
Rix managed five birdies in his round with the only blemish a bogey 5 on the tough 18th which was his 3rd hole of the day.
His long hitting proved pivotal driving onto the edge of the 340-metre par 4 9th narrowly missing his Eagle.
Players have a rest day today to make the two hour drive to Tina Golf Club in Noumea to contest the final 2 rounds on Friday and Saturday.
