The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series returned to the Victoria Park Golf Course for the 2018 City of Brisbane Victoria Park Pro-Am.

Professionals Dale Brandt-Richards and Brett Rankin were declared joint winners of this year’s City of Brisbane Victoria Park Pro-Am after firing rounds of 8-under par 57.

Brandt-Richards and Rankin both played the afternoon side of the draw where conditions on course were more challenging with blustery winds gusting for most of the round.

“It was tough out here this afternoon, I had one of my best putting rounds to date recording only 22 putts for the day," said Rankin

“My short game was on today which was key to me playing well around here."

Brandt-Richards knowing the course and the low scoring from previous years knew he needed to make a lot of birdies if he was to finish on the leaderboard.

“My plan was to make as many birdies as possible out there and try not to make a mistake," said Brandt-Richards.

“The winds were testing out there, I really relied on my short game and pitching to hold the score together."

West Australian Braden Becker had the early morning start and fired a bogey-free round of 6-under par 59 to finish in equal second position alongside fellow professional Steven Jeffress who recorded a 6-under par 59 this afternoon.

“This is my first to visit to Victoria Park Golf Course,” said Becker.

“I really enjoyed the layout of the course which was in fantastic condition, in particular the greens which rolled perfectly."
