Winners of the QLD Senior PGA Championship include David Merriman (2011, 2013, 2014), Michael Harwood (2010) and Craig Owen (2007). Past champions competing this year are Ossie Moore (2012) and Rodger Davis (2008 and 2009).
Tod Power handled the conditions the best firing a four under par 66, to lead Larry Canning and Darren Rix into today’s final round.
Power will be looking to do the QLD PGA double today, after claiming the QLD PGA Championship in 1995.
“Although it took a little while to get going, I played great out there today. I made the most of my opportunities and I am really happy to be in the position I am in heading into tomorrow’s final round,” said Power.
“The turning point in the round was no doubt the birdie I made down the 4th hole and from there, I never really looked like making any errors.
“I am looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully I can replicate the way that I played today.”
The final round of the BMD/Bartons QLD Senior PGA Championship tees off today morning at 11:00am with the lead group of Tod Power and Larry Canning teeing off the 1st tee.
