First played in 1996 the Lismore Pro-Am this week commemorated
its 20^th staging but it was Alex Pitty who was left celebrating at
the end of the day.

From the Central Coast in New South Wales, Pitty fired an
impressive 6-under 64 to win the tournament by one shot.

It was a nail biting finish for Pitty who holed a 10 foot
putt on the final hole to claim the tournament from current reigning Sunshine
Swing Order of Merit champion Tim Hart.

"The nerves started to kick in over the closing two
holes. It was great to hole the putt on the final hole to win," said Pitty, who
started to make his charge mid-way through the round.

"I got off to a solid start but it wasn’t really until the
middle of my round that I started to make a run."

"Four birdies in five holes on the back-9 put me in a
great position with only a few holes remaining."

Professionals will remain in Lismore tonight with the
Casino Pro-Am teeing off tomorrow morning.
