The PGA of Australia has today confirmed that PGA TOUR winners John Senden and Steven Bowditch will compete in the Australian PGA Championship from the 11-14 December 2014.
The PGA of Australia has today confirmed that PGA TOUR winners John Senden and Steven Bowditch will compete in the Australian PGA Championship from the 11-14 December 2014.
Queenslanders Senden and Bowditch will return home to compete for the JoeKirkwood Cup at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.
World Number 50, Senden has had a career best year in 2014 notching up hissecond victory on the PGA TOUR at the Valspar Championship, followed with atop-10 finish at The Masters where he was the leading Australian.
Continuing Australia’s dominance in the US, Steven Bowditch broke through onthe PGA TOUR at the Valero Texas Open when he claimed his first title on one ofthe world’s most lucrative Tours.
Yesterday, Bowditch finished runner-up at the PGA TOUR’s season openingFrys.com Open. This saw him move up to 80th in the Official World GolfRankings.
The winning pair will now return home to Australia where they will both beaiming to win the Australian PGA Championship for the first time.
"I achieved one of my career goals by winning on the PGA TOUR this year butwinning the Australian PGA Championship is certainly high on my priority list,"said Bowditch.
"I am looking forward to returning home and giving it my best shot."
Senden also echoed these sentiments, "It’s always nice returning home awinner, the reception we get from Australian sports fans makes the Aussiesummer exciting."
"This will be my first time playing the Australian PGA Championship on theGold Coast, I have heard good things about the redesigned front nine holes atRACV Royal Pines Resort," added Senden.
"I’m excited to take a look at the course and for it to hopefully be thesite of my first Aussie PGA victory."
The addition of Steven Bowditch and John Senden to the Australian PGA Championshipwill provide plenty of excitement for golf fans.
