A beautiful Queensland day saw 63 Senior Professionals hit off at Bargara Golf Club for their annual two day Ladbrokes Legends Pro-Am.
The strong field includes Peter Senior, Rodger Davis and Terry Price battling it out for a $22,000 prize purse at the beautiful Bargara Golf Course, located right on the coast north of Hervey Bay.
With the greens running fast and true, Queensland’s Chris Hollingsworth took advantage of the still morning conditions to post a 4-under par 68 which included six birdies and two bogeys.
Hot in his tail was Peter Harrington on 70.
A slight sea breeze made the afternoon players have to concentrate a little harder as club selection to the swift greens became vital.
Australian PGA Seniors Champion Martin Pettigrew of New Zealand was the only player able to match Hollingsworths morning round.
Five birdies and only one blemish, a bogey 5 on his first hole saw Pettigrew return a 4-under 68.
Close on their heels are a trio of players Richard Backwell, Tim Elliott and Peter Senior all carding 3-under 69.
