Rhein Gibson has a chance to move well up the 2014 One Asia Order of
Merit when he tees up at the Nanshan Masters in China this week.
Gibson, currently 8th in the standings, is the only one of the four
Australians currently in the top-10 to play this week on a course where
he finished 4th last year.
The 28-year-old is one of a 35 strong Australasian contingent to tee up at the event which is now in its fourth year.
Some of Australia’s best known and most successful golfers are in
this week’s field including two time 2014 PGA TOUR China winner David
McKenzie and OneAsia winners Matt Griffin and Nick Cullen.
With PGA TOUR China having a week off several Australians who are
playing the fledgeling circuit in 2014 are in this week’s field
including Bryden Macpherson, Ray Beaufils and Stephen Dartnall.
All are enjoying good success on the joint venture between the PGA
TOUR and China Golf Association with Macpherson currently lying 6th on
the Order of Merit.
Other Australians of note playing this week are Michael Sim and Jack
Wilson while New Zealanders Mark Brown and Gareth Paddison will lead the
Kiwi charge.
