Former NSW Open winner Adam Blyth has the chance to break into the top-60 on the Asian Tour Order of Merit this week and give himself the chance to earn full playing rights for 2019.
Blyth, one of 14 Australasians playing the Queen’s Cup in Thailand, currently sits 63rd in the standings but a decent week at the Phoenix Gold Golf and Country Club could see him make big inroads to securing 2019 status.
Blyth has already shown good form this year with a runner-up finish at the Asia Pacific Classic in China in May and only a final round 78 prevented another high finish at the Thailand Open three weeks ago.
Having narrowly missed keeping his card last year when 64th on the final standings, Blyth will be keen to secure a top-60 finish this season and have the opportunity to plan his year in advance.
Also teeing up this week are ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open winner Daniel Nisbet, Jake Higginbottom, Travis Smyth, Steven Jeffress, Maverick Antcliff, Josh Younger, Matt Stieger, James Marchesani, Andrew Martin, David Gleeson, Jack Wilson and New Zealanders Gareth Paddison and Ben Campbell.
Campbell is the only one of the 14 playing this week who holds a place in the top-60 earners at this stage of the season having made each of his last three cuts and finishing T2 at the Bangladesh Open in May.
