Matthew Millar retains the lead after the second round of the Qantas Golf Club Fiji Teams Challenge.
Millar backed up his opening round of 4-under par 68 with another solid 68 today for a total of 8-under par for the two days.
“I felt I played better today for my 68 than I did yesterday,” said Millar.
Millar scored a bogey free round today, recording four birdies for the day coming at the 5th, 9th, 17th and 18th holes.
“I didn’t get into any trouble off the tee today and missed only the two greens, I managed to make two great up and downs to save my par though.”
Steven Jeffress remains in second place after firing another 3-under par 69 for a total of 6-under par for the two rounds.
“I was very solid from tee to green today,” said Jeffress.
“I made a slight change to my putting on the back nine holes which really improved my stroke for the remaining holes.”
Jeffress’ round included birdies on the 2nd and 6th holes and a bogey on the 8th hole. The highlight of his round was an eagle on the 502m par 5, 17th hole.
The next best placed professional is Brett Rankin sitting on 2-under par with Mark Brown placed a further shot back on a 1-under par total.
The final round of the Qantas Golf Club Fiji Teams Challenge tees off tomorrow morning at 9am.
