A total of 44 visiting Professionals from across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria teed off on a beautifully presented course in perfect conditions all vying for the final win of the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series.
Brad Burns has continued with his run of form in the Onsite Rental Group Dysart Pro-Am, firing a 7-under 65, to be tied in the lead with Peter Martin who is playing his first event in this year’s Onsite Mining Towns Series.
Burns’ opening round was faultless, recording seven birdies on his card, “I’ve been hitting the ball really well the last couple of weeks," Burns said.
“I made a slight change to my wedge game leading into this event and today I was really pleased with the results.”
Peter Martin finished bogey free for his 7-under par round today with the highlight being an eagle at the 456m par 5, 1st hole.
“It was a last minute decision to play this event, I am looking forward to being in contention tomorrow and hopefully have a good finish," Martin said.
Brett Rankin was once again solid carding a 5-under par 67 to be placed within two shots of the leading pair.
After nine rounds of the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series Brett Rankin has increased his lead and is in a commanding position on 39-under par. Rankin now holds a six shot lead over Brad Burns on 33-under par in second position. Steven Jeffress is placed in third position sitting one shot further back on 32-under par.
The final round of the Onsite Rental Group Dysart Pro-Am tees off at 7:00am, with the lead group including Brad Burns and Peter Martin teeing off at 12.00pm.
