Bad weather meant only 18 holes were completed at the scheduled time in March and with 36 holes required for a result to be declared it was agreed to find a spot in the schedule to replay the event rather than cancel it.
Jason Scrivener, Terry Pilkadaris and Todd Sinnott all teed up in March and all three return this week with varying degrees of relief and anticipation.
For Sinnott the cancellation was welcome after a 5-over par opening round saw him languishing outside the top 100 while at 1-under and in the top 20 Jason Scrivener would probably have preferred the tournament continue. Terry Pilkadaris was mid-field after a 1-over-par opening round.
While not part of the tournament first time around New Zealand’s Ryan Fox gets the opportunity to tee up this week courtesy of his wire to wire win in France last week.
The two time PGA Tour of Australasia winner was brilliant in victory after opening with a 9-under-par 62 and has all but assured himself a European Tour card for next season by jumping into the top 10 on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit.
