A Saturday 66 at the weather interrupted event jumped the former PGA TOUR player inside the top 25 with 18 holes to go but he couldn’t maintain the momentum Sunday and slipped to a mid-field finish.
Scores of 70-68-66-72 were good for a T39 result, four shots ahead of next best Australian Jamie Arnold who was T66.
Rhein Gibson was the last of the Australians to play the weekend and was one stroke further back and T69.
Both Gibson and Arnold struggled to rounds of 3-over 75 Sunday, Arnold slipping 33 places down the standings while Gibson fell 20.
Steve Allan and Robert Allenby both missed the cut which fell at 4-under after 36 holes.
