Rising star Curtis Luck has posted his best finish on the PGA TOUR and shared top Australian honours in the process at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational in Texas.
The 20-year-old former top amateur teed up for just the fourth time as a Professional and posted rounds of 68-73-71-69 to be T34 at the Colonial Country Club in Dallas.
Luck turned Professional immediately after competing at the Masters in April, an event he qualified for with victories in both the US Amateur and Asia Pacific Amateur last year.
His opening round 68 in Texas had him inside the top-15 after 18 holes but he fell back in more difficult scoring conditions on Friday with a 3-over 73.
However, it was an encouraging performance for Luck with US Open qualifying coming up after next week’s Memorial tournament.
Luck finished the week tied with Victorian Marc Leishman who dropped 12 places down the leaderboard with a final round 71.
It was another solid week for Leishman who has missed just two cuts in 2017 and is the leading Australian in the FedEx Cup at 14th.
Geoff Ogilvy and Matt Jones were the last of the Australians to make the cut, Ogilvy finishing T53 at 4-over for the week and Jones T63 three shots worse.
Cameron Smith missed the cut by a shot despite fighting back from an opening 76 with a 1-under 69 while Aaron Baddeley and Greg Chalmers were two outside the mark.
Steven Bowditch, Cameron Percy and Rod Pampling were the other Australians to miss the weekend.
