Curtis Luck’s journey to the PGA TOUR took another step forward this week with his T20 finish at the Greenbrier Classic confirming his place in the Web.com Tour Finals Series.

As a non-member of the Tour Luck’s FedEx Cup points aren’t officially counted though they are tracked and he needs to be ahead of the player in 200^th position on this year’s list to qualify.

That number currently stands at 57 and with the West Australian earning 37 points this week to get to 149, he is guaranteed a place in the four tournament series.

But Luck not only locked up a place in the Finals Series he also took top Australian honours at the Greenbrier tournament in yet another impressive display.

The 20-year-old is showing maturity beyond his years with each start on the world’s biggest circuit, four sub-par rounds in West Virginia testament to his extraordinary talent.

Luck fired rounds of 69-69-68-68 to be 6-under and eight behind eventual winner Xander Schauffele but alongside names as impressive as Phil Mickelson and Patrick Reed.

As reigning US Amateur champion Luck has been afforded several opportunities to show off his game this year and has stood up at every level with just two missed cuts in seven starts since turning Professional after The Masters.

He is entitled to a further three sponsor’s exemptions for the season and remains a slim chance to earn automatic exemption to the Tour in 2018 if he can notch two top five finishes.

Luck finished six shots ahead of 2006 U.S. Open winner Geoff Ogilvy who was T58 at even par while Matt Jones was the last of the Australians to play the weekend and was T64.

Steven Bowditch, Greg Chalmers, Brett Drewitt, Cameron Percy and Stuart Appleby all missed the cut.
