Week one of the E-Z-GO Legends Tour Victorian swing wrapped up at Gardiners run yesterday after a successful week of tournaments across the states’ south east.

The week started at Phillip Island for the Phillip Island Golf Club Legends Pro-Am with 48 Professionals hitting the fairways in beautiful coastal conditions.

The day ended in a five way tie between Peter Woodward, Andy Dakers, David Merriman, Lucien Tinkler and Mark Tickle who each carded 1-under 71. It was a memorable moment for Woodward and Dakers who secured their maiden win on E-Z-GO Legends Tour.

From Phillip Island the Tour moved to Boneo on the Mornington Peninsula for the Peter Stickley Vendor Advocacy Legends Pro-Am at Eagle Ridge Golf Course.

A hot 36-degree day greeted the 62 Professionals, which including former Major winner Ian Baker-Finch. The day wrapped up in a four way tie between Greg Carroll, Rodger Davis, Tim Elliott and David Hando; each firing 3-under 69. Davis, who shot four birdies and one bogey for his 69, commented on the great condition of the course at presentations.

Staying on the Peninsula, the Tour headed to Portsea for the Portsea Legends Pro-Am at Portsea Golf Club. Defending champion Mike Harwood was pipped at the post on 1-under 70 to come runner up to first time winner John Martin who fired 2-under 69.

The Sandhurst Club was the next stop for the Baycity Holden Sandhurst Club Legends Pro-Am. Squally conditions did little to faze the field as Paul Dalgleish set the pace with 4-under 68 carding four birdies and 14 pars which was matched by Mike Zilko, Terry Price and Lucien Tinkler in the afternoon.  However, four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 12th was enough to see Antony Gilligan take the victory carding 5-under 67.

The week concluded in the picturesque Yarra Valley for the ProCon Gardiner’s Run Legends Pro-Am in Lilydale.

South Africa’s Chris Williams equalled the course record of 8-under 64 in a round that included six birdies and an eagle to secure the win. Gardiners Run put on a fabulous day with full fields for both the morning and afternoon starts.

The ProCon Gardiner’s Run Legends Pro-Am also completed Baker-Finches’ Victorian tour schedule  having played four of the five events and commented on the excellent facilities he’d played and that members should be very proud of their clubs.
