Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and now Panama.

Min Woo Lee is not only turning heads in his rookie year as a professional but accumulating impressive frequent flyer miles along the way.

Listed as an affiliate member of the European Tour, Lee vaulted into 28th position on the Race to Dubai standings on the back of a fourth-place finish at the Saudi International last week but has switched continents in search of a 2020 PGA TOUR card.

The 2016 US Junior Amateur champion has made no secret of his desire to ply his trade in the United States and having made it through to Final Stage of Qualifying School, makes his Web.com Tour debut at this week’s Panama Championship at the Club de Golf de Panama just outside Panama City.

Forced to go through each stage of qualifying whilst still an amateur, earning limited status on the secondary US tour helped to convince the 20-year-old that he was ready to join the professional ranks.

Also making his first appearance for 2019 but at a very different stage in his career is Tasmanian Mathew Goggin.

A two-time winner in Panama and unabashed fan of the local coffee, Goggin showed that the back and wrist injuries that have plagued him in recent years may be behind him with a top-20 finish at the Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast in December.

Although he has missed the cut in the past 24 Web.com Tour events in which he has played, Goggin has fond memories of Panama, two of his five wins on tour coming at the 2011 and 2015 Panama Claro championships.

Following a top-10 finish last week at Colombia New Zealand’s Tim Wilkinson is first off with Stuart Appleby, Rhein Gibson, Cameron Percy, Steven Alker, Brett Drewitt, Brett Coletta, Jamie Arnold and Nick Voke also in the field.
