An eagle three at the par-5 16^th has seen Cameron Percy leapfrog Scott Hend to take top honours at the second of four Web.com Finals events in Idaho.

Percy headed into the final round of the Boise Open at 10-under and T6 but was 1-over through 12 holes and outside the top 20.

However, two brilliant shots to the par-5 16^th set up an eagle putt and the former PGA TOUR player took full advantage to post a 1-under round and finish T9 in the tournament.

More important than the individual result, however, is his position on the Finals money list which will see 25 players awarded PGA TOUR cards in two week’ time.

Percy now sits T14 on the standings and in excellent position to return to the world’s richest circuit with some decent play in the final two events

Hend also helped his chances of making it back to the PGA TOUR with some good play following his near miss  at last week’s European Tour event.

Hend travelled to Switzerland to take advantage of a rare off week on the Web.com Tour last week and lost the European Masters in a playoff to Matt Fitzpatrick.

But the 43-year-old brought back the good form he displayed at Crans-sur-Sierre to finish T17 with rounds of 68-70-66-70 and sit T27 on the Finals money list.

The veteran Queenslander is trying to gain his PGA TOUR card for 2018 after qualifying for the Finals courtesy of a high finish at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

Hend lives in Florida and played the TOUR in 2006 but has plied his trade mostly in Asia and Europe since.

He is one of 10 Australasians playing the four tournament series which will award 25 PGA TOUR cards at the conclusion of the Web.com Tour Championship in two weeks’ time.

Rookie Curtis Luck, who was T14 on the money list after the first event, was looking likely to slip well outside the top 25 after three indifferent rounds in Boise.

But a 5-under 66 Sunday vaulted the 21-year-old almost 30 places up the leaderboard to T30 and now 26th on the money list.

Brett Drewitt had a disappointing Sunday round of 1-over 72 to fall to T29 in the tournament and 34th on the money list.

New Zealand’s Steve Alker was the last of the Australasians to  make the cut and finished T57 to be 53^rd in earnings.

Stuart Appleby, Tim Wilkinson, Rhein Gibson, Matt Jones and Jamie Arnold all missed the weekend and now have their work cut out to climb into the top 25.
