South Australia’s Nick Cullen knows he has it all before him this week as he takes aim at a place on the 2018 European Tour.
Cullen is the only Australian in the field at the Challenge Tour’s season ending NBO Classic Grand Final in Oman and knows he likely needs to finish in the top three to have any chance to achieve his goal.
The top-15 on the year long Road to Oman standings will earn their playing rights to the main circuit for next year and Cullen presently sits 31st.
At more than €25,000 behind 15th place he will need to either win to advance or finish in the top three and rely on the results of others to have a chance.
Cullen played this event last year and proved he has the game to handle the course at Al Mouj Golf with a second round 66.
However, he followed with a 75 that undid much of the good work and eventually finished T26.
He knows he will need to do better than that this week and after a blistering 65-69 weekend to close out last week’s event in the UAE will bring some confidence to Oman.
