Brendan Jones has posted his best result of the year at the Japan Tour’s Casio Open at the weekend, a T6 finish welcome improvement after three straight missed cuts.
Australia’s most successful Japan Tour player has struggled to find consistent form much of the year as he returns from wrist surgery which disrupted much of 2014.
While this week’s finish was his third top 10 for the year it has been a roller coaster ride for the Canberran who has shown flashes of form between bouts of poor golf all season.
Rounds of 72-67-68-72 saw him post a 9-under total and while he will be pleased with the improvement will be disappointed to have fallen from T2 through 54 holes.
Jones was one of seven Australians in the Casio Open field, Won Joon Lee finishing three shots back at T12, one shot ahead of Adam Bland and Brad Kennedy at T21.
Kurt Barnes (T54) was the only other Australasian to make the cut, David Smail and Matt Griffin both missing out.
