Scott Hend has played his way into the final leg of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai thanks to another week of excellent golf in China.

"ScottHend and Marcus Fraser were the only two Australians to make it to the BMW Masters in Shanghai, both needing good finishes to advance to this week’s DP World Tour Championship in Dubai and both getting the job done.

With only the top 60 in the standings eligible to tee up at the Jumeirah Golf Estates for the season finale, Fraser began the week in 60th and Hend 64th.

But both produced some of their best golf of the season at the Lake Malaren Golf Club, Fraser moving to 53rd after a T13 result and Hend to 58th after finishing T17.

While not eligible for the lucrative bonus pool which will be split among the top 15 players after this week, both Hend and Fraser will be pleased to have qualified for the final event of the season.

It is the second time Fraser has made it all the way to the last event but is a particularly impressive performance from Hend to achieve the feat in his rookie season in Europe.

With no cut and a guaranteed minimum cheque of almost €20,000, playing the DP World Tour Championship is rich reward for a good season’s work.
