Richard Green led home the Australian contingent in a low scoring Dubai Desert Classic but it was Wade Ormsby who will be rueing a missed opportunity after struggling to a final round 79 for the second week in a row.

"WadeOrmsby, who came so close at
the Australian PGA Championship in December, shot the same score in the final
round of the Qatar Masters last week after overcoming a slow start to make the
cut.

The South Australian was
treading water again in the first round in Dubai but rallied with three
straight birdies to close out his opening 18.

He backed up his opening 69
with rounds of 69 and 70 to be T25 on a packed leader board heading to the
final day and one good round away from a top-15 result.

But he got off to a poor
start with a bogey at the first on Sunday and compounded the error with a
double at the sixth

Turning in 5-over-par 40 he
added three more bogies on the back against a lone birdie for the day at the 13th
to tumble down the standings and finish near the tail of the field.

For Green it was a week of
consistent golf, the left hander shooting under par every day to post 11-under
for the week and share 25th position.

Despite a surprisingly poor
driving display, Green salvaged his scores around the greens with excellent
scrambling and putting numbers.

Brett Rumford missed the cut
by a shot after an opening round 73 put him in early trouble while Scott Hend,
who has played well in Dubai in the past, fired a second round 77 to miss by
six strokes.
