Nathan Green showed all his years of experience to capture the 2017 Austbrokers Gold Creek Pro-Am.
After a beautiful opening day with great scoring, the final round of the Gold Creek Pro-Am was survival of the fittest. With cold, windy and stormy conditions the experience of Nathan Green who is a former US PGA TOUR winner shone through.
Green backed up his first round 5-under 67 with an even more impressive 3-under 69 given the conditions. His total of 8-under 136 would see him win by two shots.
“ I love competing and even though it’s not the US Tour I still enjoy the challenge. Catching up with the guys is something that I love about playing the pro-am events,” Green said.
The standout round of the weekend given the conditions belonged to Neven Basic who shot 6-under 66 in the final round. Basic and Troy Moses finished runners up with 6-under par totals of 138.
One of Australia’s legends of the game Peter Senior found himself in fourth, He finished on 5-under 139 and proved at 58 he is still as competitive as ever.
Tied fifth were host and overnight leader Matthew Millar along with Darren Beck and Jordan Zunic on 4-under totals of 140.
The other overnight leader Chris Gaunt would finish in a tie for eighth on 3-under 141. Joining Chris on that number to round out the top ten were Austin Bautista, Matthew Giles and Matthew Stieger.
The Austbrokers Gold Creek Pro-Am was the last event in what was a great week of golf in the ACT. The NSW/ACT Pro Am series will have a break until June where the tour will head to the Pacific Islands.
