Golf legends to contest prestigious title at Mollymook


The Legends of Australian golf will be on display at
Mollymook Golf Club for the 2016 Australian PGA Seniors Championship.

"MollymookThe Australian PGA Seniors Championship will be played at Mollymook
Golf Club in Shoalhaven from 24-26 November.

Having held the NSW PGA Seniors Championship for the past
two years, Mollymook Golf Club will now host the most prestigious title on the
E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour.

"We are delighted to be the venue for the 2016 Australian
PGA Seniors Championship," said Barry West, Director of Golf at Mollymook Golf
Club.

"The quality of player that competes in the tournament is
outstanding and I know that our club members are excited to see them take on
our course."

Celebrating its 30th Anniversary the Australian
PGA Seniors Championship has ingrained itself on the Australian golfing
landscape.

"The Australian Seniors PGA Championship is amongst the most
important titles that a PGA Professional can vie for," said Brian Thorburn, CEO
of the PGA of Australia.

"That is proven by the calibre of players that compete in
the tournament. The honour roll reads like a who’s who of Australian and
international golf with Rodger Davis (2015), Peter Fowler (2011), Terry Gale
(2006) and famed American Lee Travino (1996) having won the tournament."

The Australian PGA Seniors Championship’s move to Mollymook
Golf Club has been supported by the Shoalhaven City Council.

"We are very honoured and excited to support and have the
Australian Seniors PGA Championship in the Shoalhaven," said Russ Pigg, General
Manager, Shoalhaven City Council.

 "Shoalhaven has some
of the most amazing golf courses, overlooking bush or scenic coastlines, to
charming old country clubhouses.  Our
community has keen golfers and many of our tourists enjoy golfing weekends in
the area."

"We welcome the Australian Seniors PGA Championship which
will not only showcase Shoalhaven, but provide a boost in tourism and the local
economy. The event will feature the area and one of the best championship
hilltop courses that our City has to offer."

The Australian Seniors PGA Championship will be played at
Mollymook Golf Club from 25-26 November for a AU$70,000 prize purse.
