He was born in Ghana, completed his schooling in Berkshire west of London and attended college at the University of Washington in the US but Danny List will represent Australia when he makes his European Tour debut this week.

""Still just 19 years of age, List received a special invitation to play in the Nordea Masters at the Hills Golf Club in Gothenburg, Sweden following a history of outstanding performances while a junior in the UK.

Winner of the ISGA British High Schools national final, List also led Wellington College to the teams title  and was sixth at the 2016 Boys Amateur Championship.

Having decided to turn pro earlier this year, List earned his card for the PGA Tour Latinoamerica Tour at qualifying in Argentina in February and has since played in six events, his best result a tie for 16th at the BMW Jamaica Classic.

List’s father, Paul List, is the CEO of BCM International Limited that has mining interests in Ghana and has been a member of Cottesloe Golf Club in Perth for some 40 years, Daniel learning the game on the West Australian capital’s picturesque oceanside layout.

Although he has never officially been a member of any Golf Australia national programs, List has attended a number of national camps in Australia and also in Houston two years ago and looks set for a promising career.

Another Australian player to benefit from an invitation to play in the Nordea Masters this week is Lucas Herbert who is desperately trying to earn a full European Tour card for 2019 in a limited number of starts.

Tied for 51st at the Open Championship, Herbert followed that up a week later with a top-30 finish at the Porsche European Open and was tied for 18th at the tri-sanctioned Fiji International two weeks ago.

His best finish in Europe this year is a tie for third at the Rocco Forte Sicilian Open and the 22-year-old is presently ranked 123rd in the Race to Dubai rankings heading into a busy period in Europe.

Aussie veteran Richard Green is making just his fourth start in Europe this year and his seventh Nordea Masters appearance in succession, his best finish coming last year when he was tied for 30th.

Other Australians in the field in Sweden this week are Brett Rumford, Jason Scrivener, Adam Bland, Matthew Millar along with New Zealand’s Josh Geary.

The European Challenge Tour is at the Galgorm Resort and Spa for the Northern Ireland Open where Australia will be represented by Dimitrios Papadatos, Jack Munro and Ben Eccles, Papadatos looking to maintain his place inside the top 15 in the Road to Ras Al Khaimah rankings.
