Tournament winners Josh Geary and Bryden Macpherson will lead a strong Australasian challenge at the inaugural Shenzhou Peninsula Classic in China this week.
Both Macpherson and Geary already have a victory under their belt in 2017, Macpherson currently second on the Order of Merit with Geary sixth.
But they’re not the only potential contenders among the Australasians this week with last week’s runner-up Chris Wood and the consistent Queenslander Maverick Antcliff also teeing up at The Dunes Golf Links in Hainan.
Antcliff currently sits 11th on the Order of Merit having posted four top-10 finishes in seven starts since earning his card at Q-School while Wood is one place behind him in earnings.
They’re joined in the field this week by Mitchell Brown, Jack Munro, Peter Martin, Kevin Yuan and Geary’s countryman Fraser Wilkin.
The China Tour will co-sanction the next two events on the schedule with the European Challenge Tour though only international players inside the top-18 on their Order of Merit following last week’s tournament are eligible for a place in those fields.
